弥彦山での登山の後、昼ご飯を食べに寺泊にやってきました！
夫婦2人で寺泊デートです。

After climbing Mt. Yahiko, we came to Teradomari for lunch!
My husband and I have a date at Teradomari.

寺泊の魚の市場通りに来るのは新潟に来てから初めて。
寺泊の魚の市場通りは、新潟で有名な場所なので、
人から話で聞いたり、メディアで見聞きしたりしていました。
なので、一度は行ってみたいと思っていたところ、
弥彦山に登ると決まって、今回は寄ってみようか！となったのです。

This is the first time for me to come to Teradomari fish market street since I came to Niigata.
Teradomari Fish Market Street is a famous place in Niigata,
so I had heard stories from people
and seen and heard about it in the media.
So I wanted to visit there at least once,
and then I thought,
“I decided to climb Mt. Yahiko, let’s stop by this time!”.

寺泊に着きました！
休日の昼間に着いたので、駐車場はかなり混み合っていました。
さすが寺泊、新潟の人気スポットですね。

We arrived at Teradomari!
We arrived during the daytime on a holiday, so the parking lot was quite crowded.
Teradomari is indeed a popular spot in Niigata.

やっとのことで車を停め、市場へ。
We finally parked the car and went to the market.

お腹が空いていたので食欲がさらにすごいことに。

I was hungry and my appetite was even more amazing.

やっとランチのお食事
Finally, a lunch meal.

まずはお昼ご飯です！

First up is lunch!

市場の2階に向かいます。

Head to the second floor of the market.

御食事処　海鮮料理　やまろく苑さんへ。

We went to a restaurant, Kaisen Ryori Yamarokuen.

お昼時なのでやはり混んでいました。
しかし、運良く列に並ぶことなく着席できました！
畳の大部屋に机が並んでいます。
お茶お水はセルフサービスとなっていました。

It was lunch time, so it was still crowded.
But luckily we were seated without waiting in line!
Desks are lined up in a large tatami room.
Tea and water were self-service.

やまろく苑さんのメニュー
Yamarokuen’s Menu

優柔不断のririは迷いに迷って、カニめし定食、1650円を頼みました！
頼むこと5分強。
ついに美味しそうな定食が運ばれてきました！やったー！

Riri, being indecisive, ordered the crabmeat set meal, 1,650 yen, after much hesitation!
It took a little more than 5 minutes to order.
Finally, the delicious-looking set meal arrived! Yay!

カニ飯。
名物番屋汁(カニの味噌汁)。
刺身の盛り合わせ。
白身魚の煮物。
帆立の貝柱の煮物。
タコの酢の物。
お漬物。

Crab rice.
Specialty Banya soup (crab miso soup).
Assorted sashimi.
Simmered white fish.
Simmered scallop
Vinegared octopus.
Pickles.

カニ飯は剥いたカニがたくさん乗っていて、
ご飯も味付けされていました。
さっぱりしたお味でした。
量が多く食べ応えあり。

The crab rice was loaded with peeled crabs.
The rice was also seasoned.
The taste was refreshing.
It was a large portion and very satisfying.

番屋汁はカニのお味がほのかにして上品なお味噌汁でした。

Banya soup was an elegant miso soup with a hint of crab flavor.

全体的に脂質少なめで、さっぱりとしていました。
女性やお子さんにも食べやすいような感じでしたよ。

Overall, it was low in fat and refreshing.
They were easy to eat for women and children.

美味しくいただきました。

寺泊で食べ歩き
Eating at Teradomari

腹ごしらえしましたが、登山の後でまだまだお腹に余裕が。
ここでは食べ歩きが醍醐味なのでは！？
と、市場を歩いて回りました。

I was hungry, but still had plenty of room in my stomach after the climb.
I thought the best part of the trip here would be walking around eating!
So we walked around the market.

浜焼きや串焼き、甘味もありました。

There were also hamayaki, skewers, and sweetmeats.

riri達の食べたものを紹介します。
Here is what we ate.

身が大きくプリプリで弾力がすごく、
人生で食べた牡蠣の中で1番美味しかった！

The meat was so big and plump and elastic,
the best oysters I’ve ever had in my life!

鮭のハラスにとても脂が乗っていて、口の中に入れるとジューシー。
身が柔らかく、ホロホロでした。
これもとても美味しい！

The salmon halas was very fatty and juicy in the mouth.
The meat was soft and tender.
Very tasty too!

青い塩味のソフトクリーム。
見た目のどぎつさに相反して、味は爽やか。
食べ歩きのしめは甘いもので。

Blue salt-flavored soft serve ice cream.
Contrary to its harsh appearance, the taste is refreshing.
We ended our walking tour with a sweet treat.
